This shawl uses fan motifs to create its wide, narrow shape and open drape. It’s worked in my favourite colour combo of blues, greys and chartruse, to reflect the moody, rainy summer that it was made in.
1x 50g skein of 4ply in 4 different shades
5mm (US H/8) crochet hook
Each motif measures 15cm/6in x 30cm/12in using 5mm hook (or size
needed to achieve tension)
Basic crochet stitches, working in rows, increasing, joining motifs on.
Starts at the bottom with 3 adjoining motifs and then builds up in rows
from there. The motifs are joined as you go, with outer edges using foundation stitches where there is no motif to work into. Please use the schematic for colour and motif placement.
This pattern is charted and written using standard UK crochet terminology (with US conversions given in the abbreviations)
