Susannah is the woman behind Bearford Flock. She keeps a small herd of alpacas and breeds a small flock of organic, pedigree Jacob sheep in East Lothian, Scotland (just outside of Edinburgh). Their distinct fleece has always fascinated her as such a wide range of beautiful natural colours can be found from white, through shades of brown to almost black. The stunninng shades of greys are created by blending the brown and white fleece. Some of the alpaca's fleece was then blended with the sheep fleece to create a rich and cosy yarn. Alaca fibres are hollow that give it extra insulating properties, making a light-weight and cosy fabric.
