Join us for an insightful conversation about Botanical Dyes and Pigments on a Budget with Sarah Clarkson, on Thursday 24th July from 6-7pm.
Sarah Clarkson is an artist and textile designer based in Edinburgh. Working as Woolly
Originals, she created machine knit bags for artists and crafters to use for their projects
and tools. Originally a medical herbalist with a passion for painting, Sarah took all these
skills and combined them to plant dye the yarns for her business. She is now extracting
pigments from plants to make artist materials.
Sarah will present a 60 minute talk with a Q&A session, covering all that you need to
know to start plant dyeing small amounts of yarn in your kitchen on a limited budget. A
workbook will be available to purchase as part of the talk for you to take away and use
as your own dyeing diary. She will also discuss extracting pigments from plants.
