GINGER TWIST STUDIO

CHRISTMAS JUMPER GUIDED KAL :: Saturday 17 October

£100.00

Would you like to knit your very own Christmas Jumper, but not feeling quite confident enough? Let us help you! Sign up for this guided KAL (knitalong) where we will gently guide you through the process of making a Christmas themed sweater in the round on circular needles. This will take place over the course of 5 live sessions on Zoom each lasting 2 hours. You will of course have homework to complete between the sessions so we can all complete our jumpers in time for Christmas! Here is the schedule...

  • Saturday 17 Oct at 10am-12pm: Starting off- colour choices, picking your size, set swatching as homework
  • Saturday 24 Oct at 2pm - 4pm: Check swatch and decide on final needle size, start sleeves (casting on and working 2 colour rib)
  • Saturday 31 Oct & Sat 7 Nov- No classes but time to knit the sleeves. Troubleshooting available if you get stuck!
  • Saturday 14 Nov at 2pm - 4pm: Cast on for the body
  • Saturday 21 Nov & 28 Nov: No classes, bit work on finishing your body. Troubleshooting available if you get stuck!
  • Saturday 5 Dec at 2pm - 4pm: Join the body and knit through scallop section (going over fairisle techniques)
  • Saturday 12 Dec: No class, work on your yoke
  • Saturday 19 Dec at 2pm - 4pm: Casting off/blocking- ready to wear in time for Xmas!

Now more about the jumper you will be knitting...

This jumper has a more vintage fit with its cropped body, stripes and colourwork add a bit of whimsy and fun. As the jumper is worked in Aran weight, it also a relatively quick knit. This jumper is knit in the round from the bottom up. Sleeves are knitted first and set aside, then the body. The sleeves are then joined to the body and the yoke is worked in the round to completion. The jumper can easily be modified in length of body and arms to suit your own needs.

This pattern will sent to you as a PDF.
