Come and join us for an afternoon of knitting, tea and cake and learn to make this intarsia colour block mini shawl on Sunday 1 March 2026 at 1pm - 4pm. Intarsia is used in knitting to create large blocks of colour in your work. During this workshop we will begin work on a mini shawl with 3 different colours creating a striking colour block design.
We will cover:
- Following an intarsia chart
- Look at how to manage your yarns to avoid tangling
- How to keep your colour changes tidy
- Tips for managing more colours in future intarsia projects
Skills required: You should already know how to knit and purl confidently
Your kit includes: 3 contrasting balls of wool on your chosen colour combination (150grams total) and an adorable Ginger Twist Studio Mesh Snap Pouch for keeping your yarn tidy.
What you need to bring or purchase beforehand (not included):
- 5mm needles suitable for knitting flat (ie straight needles or circulars 80cm+)
- Stitch markers
- Pen for making notes
Whichever kit you choose will be waiting for you at the workshop, and it is everything you need. And if you don't see anything you fancy kit-wise, please get in touch and we can put together something to suit your taste.
The workshop will be held at an adorable cafe and wine bar around the corner from the shop called The Tailor. A cuppa and bit of cake is included with the workshop. There are a couple of steps up to the back room and toilet.
