A perfectly local combination; the pattern designer (K.M. Bedigan) is an Edinburgh local, and the yarn comes from local alpacas, British sheep and spun at The Border Mill in Scotland! This is all contained in an adorable cotton sheep drawstring project bag, and makes a fab gift!
The pattern pairs garter stitch and short rows to create a flowing, textured shawl, with a spiralling cabled border echoing ideas and memories of breezy days.
The shawl is asymmetric, forming a right angle triangular shape. The body is knitted first and edged with a sideways knitted on border. I-cord edging trims the shawl, and is worked throughout.
The pattern includes written instructions for the body of the shawl, and full written and charted instructions for the cables.
