Join us for a cuppa, bit of cake and some knitting! Have you started knitting and want to take your skills to the next level? Or maybe you have never tried to knit in the round before. Join us for this in person 2-week hat knitting course tucked in a lovely wee cafe around the corner from the shop.
Skills Required: You might have picked up the needles previously and be familiar with the knit stitch. Or if you are a complete beginner, this course is adaptable and suitable to you too.
We will cover all the basics of ribbing in the round while working on a beautiful hat to practise and develop your skill with a different focus each week. The dates are as follows:
Sunday 12 May at 3:30pm - 5:30pm: Cast on and start the ribbing for your hat in your chosen size and continue onto the body of the hat.
Sunday 19 May at 3.30pm - 5:30pm: Learn to decrease for the crown of the hat and finishing.
Your tuition includes a cuppa and bit of cake during each class, along with a kit complete with all the materials you need to make your wonderful hand knit hat.
Your kit includes:
- 100grams of worsted weight wool in a colour of your choosing
Please bring along or purchase beforehand:
- Circular needles for making the hat in 4.0mm and 5.0mm (both 40cm)
- 5.0mm Double pointed needles or long circular for magic loop depending on your preference
- Darning needle
