LEARN TO KNIT SOCKS COURSE :: November 2025

Knit your own socks! This course will run over three weeks at an adorable cafe around the corner from the shop complete with cake and a cuppa for everyone. 

Join us for this in person 3-week sock knitting course tucked in a lovely wee cafe around the corner from the shop. 

We will cover all the basics of knitting in the round while working on a cosy house sock to practise and develop your skill with a different focus each week. The dates are as follows:

  • Saturday 15 November at 1pm - 3pm: In the first session we will cast on and go over how to start knitting magic loop then begin knitting the cuff of our sock. 
  • Saturday 22 November at 1pm - 3pm: The exciting bit! This week we will turn the heel of the sock- the key skill to sock making.
  • Saturday 29 November at 1pm - 3pm: Finally we will decrease and graft the toe stitches together to finish off our seamless sock.

Your tuition includes a cuppa and bit of cake during each class, along with a kit that will be waiting for you at the workshop. The workshop allows for a maximum of 6 students, so grab a pal to come along too! 

Skills required: You should already know how to knit and purl comfortably, preferably using circular needles or double-pointed pins.

Your kit includes:

  • 100grams of Aran weight wool from recycled wool textiles in a colour of your choosing (enough for making an adult pair of socks)

What you need to bring or purchase beforehand (not included)

  • Circular knitting needles in size 4.5mm (80cm long) or you could use a set of double-pointed pins. It is important to have these exact sizes and length! (Get in touch if you need help).
  • stitch markers
  • Darning needle

Your chosen kit will be waiting for you at the workshop. You will be emailed all the details after you make your booking. 

Please note that workshops and events are non refundable or exchangeable once your spot is booked.The workshop  will be held at an adorable cafe and wine bar around the corner from the shop called The Tailor. A cuppa and bit of cake is included with the workshop. There are a couple of steps up to the back room and toilet.
