Fancy learning to knit a proper pullover top-down, all in the round? This three-week in-person course runs in June 2026 at a charming local café just round the corner from us. You'll master knitting in the round while creating a snug baby-sized sweater, with a fresh skill focus each week. Plus, there's cake and a hot drink included—because what's crafting without treats? Perfect for building your knitting confidence in a relaxed, welcoming setting.
The dates are as follows:
- Saturday 13 June at 1pm - 3pm: In the first session we will cast on and go over how to start knitting the neckband, then begin knitting the yoke of the sweater and go over increases.
- Saturday 20 June at 1pm - 3pm: The exciting bit! This week we will divide for the sleeves and work on the body of the sweater.
- Saturday 27 June at 1pm - 3pm: Finally we will knit the sleeves and finish off the garment.
The workshop allows for a maximum of 6 students, so grab a pal to come along too!
Skills required: You should already know how to knit and purl comfortably, preferably using circular needles or double-pointed pins.
Your kit includes:
- 200grams of Worsted weight wool & silk yarn in a colour of your choosing
What you need to bring or purchase beforehand (not included)
- Circular knitting needles in size 4.0mm and 5.0mm (40cm long)
- Double-pointed pins or an 80cm circular in both 4.0mm and 5.0mm for knitting on small circumferences. It is important to have these exact sizes and length! (Get in touch if you need help).

- Darning needle
Whichever kit you choose will be waiting for you at the workshop, and it is everything you need. And if you don't see anything you fancy kit-wise, please get in touch and we can put together something to suit your taste.
The workshop will be held at an adorable cafe and wine bar around the corner from the shop called The Tailor. A cuppa and bit of cake is included with the workshop. There are a couple of steps up to the back room and toilet. Please get in touch if you have any mobility concerns.
