Sunday 7 December at 4:30pm - 7:30pm at Ginger Twist Studio
Weaving is a fun, hands-on way to explore colour, texture, and pattern. In this 3-hour workshop, you’ll learn the basics on a small frame loom, which you get to take home! We’ll cover warping, casting on and off, plain weave, and experimenting with colour changes to create your own woven art piece to hang on the wall.
You’ll also get to try the following techniques
- Rya knots
- Rosengang
-
Braid weave
-
Pile weave
Yarn and all equipment will be supplied, as well as a glass of fizz and nibbles. By the end you’ll have the equipment and skills to keep weaving at home!
Your instructor Morag has been working with textiles for over ten years. She studied Textile Design at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, and later specialised in weaving at Sätergläntan, a craft school located in a Swedish forest in Dalarna. Her work is all about colour and texture, exploring vibrant hues through both dyeing and weaving. She loves experimenting, playing with materials, and discovering new ways to bring colour and surface to life.
Please note that workshops and events are non refundable or exchangeable once your spot is booked.
