It simply doesn't get more local than this!

Meet the source behind your next favourite skein: the Bankrugg Boys—a small herd of wonderfully exuberant alpacas who live on Bankrugg Farm in East Lothian, just a 40-minute drive from our shop door.

Once sheared, their luxurious fleece travels down to the skilled craftspeople at The Borders Mill to be spun into this exquisite 4ply yarn. True farm-to-yarn provenance, grown and spun right here on our doorstep in the Scottish Borders and Lothians.

Alpaca fibre is celebrated for its incredible warmth, lightweight breathability, and cloud-like softness against the skin. Whether you're crafting heirloom shawls, delicate colorwork, or cosy accessories, this super local yarn brings a piece of the Scottish countryside straight to your needles.
